Library Rules:

  1. All the library users will enter the library with their Identity Card.
  2. All library users must sign In/Out register available with the attendant at the main gate of the Library.
  3. All users are supposed to deposit their personal belongings such as personal books, bags etc. at the property counter while entering the library. The University Library will not hold any responsibility for any loss or damage to the belongings.
  4. Use of mobile phones, smoking, refreshment or food items of any kind inside the library is not allowed and strictly prohibited. The library users shall maintain perfect order and silence in the library and should switch off their Mobiles or keep them on vibration mode.
  5. Library is placed to build knowledge through resources available in the library,keeping the same in view, pin drop silence and peace is supposed to be observed in the Library premises.
  6. All the issued books must be returned on or before the due date so as to avoid overdue charges and make them available for use by other users as well.
  7. Any Book except reference books can be issued by any user at the issue counter by user id books are available.
  8. The Librarian reserves the right to suspend/cancel the usership of any user found misbehaving with the library staff or for any other indecent behavior. The Librarian/Library In-Charge/Library Office is free to recall any issued book at any time.
  9. Users are supposed to leave the book on the nearest table whenever they take the books from the open shelves so as to avoid misplacement of books.
  10. Users should keep the library informed of any change of address, contact number,email-id etc. during the period of their usership.
  11. Users must submit the issued books from the library before proceeding on long leave except books issued for break.
  12. Books Borrowed should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc. and must be returned in the same condition as it was issued.
  13. Users should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource.
  14. Students are advised not to issue Books to others on their names. If any student is found doing the same, his/her usership may be blocked.
  15. Reference Documents like Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Year Books, Journals (Loose & Bound), Theses, Project Reports, Census, Handbooks etc. will not be issued out.
  16. Conversation and discussion disturb library ambience. Therefore, all are requested to maintain dignified silence.
  17. No visitor or guest is permitted to use the Library without the prior permission of the Librarian/Library In-Charge. He/She is required to produce a proper introduction letter from the concerned Institution/Organization.
  18. No photograph of the Library shall be taken without the prior permission of the Librarian/Library In-Charge.
  19. Users will vacate their seats Fifteen minutes before the close of the library.
  20. The Librarian/Library In-Charge, with the approval of the competent authority reserves the right to add, delete, or modify any of these rules as and when required.

Handling of Library Resources:

  1. The resources such as Books, Periodicals, e-Resources, etc. available in the Central Library have been purchased not only to extend services to the present users but also for the future users of the library. Hence, the user, while utilizing these resources, should not tamper the document, write upon, damage, torn down the pages or mark on any library materials.
  2. Users should also take care of Copyright issues while utilizing the resources and he/she will be solely held responsible for any violation.
  3. When the book has been issued by the library, the user should carefully examine/check and satisfy themselves whether the book issued to him/her is in good condition or not. And, If the book is not in good condition, the user should immediately inform the library staff available at issue counter, otherwise, the user will be held responsible for any compensation such as replacement of the book or payment of the book fixed by the Library.

SOP for Library No Dues:

The Librarian/Library In-Charge, with the approval of the competent authority reserves the right to add, delete, or modify any of these rules as and when required.
